Capital Metro partners with HEB for back-to-school campaign

Thursday, July 7, 2022 by Samuel Stark

Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority will be partnering with HEB and its beneficiary, For the Children, to host school supply drives ahead of the upcoming school year at various HEB stores.

Capital Metro will park buses in two HEB parking lots from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 23 (2508 E. Riverside Drive and 14208 NW U.S. Highway 183) and July 30 (100 E. 41st St. and 8801 South Congress Ave.) to allow customers to donate school supplies in a “stuff the bus” campaign.

Austinites may donate money to the drive when checking out at participating HEB stores in Austin, Buda, Dripping Springs, Georgetown, Hutto, Kyle, Leander, Pflugerville and Round Rock through Aug. 16.

According to a press release, “Through this back-to-school campaign, Cap Metro continues to fulfill its mission of helping the community by supporting all Central Texas children as they prepare for a successful school year.”
