Republishing Guidelines
The Austin Monitor’s mission is to strengthen our shared information space and democracy with you. To advance our mission and service the community, we are proud to make our journalism free for all to read and republish. Unless otherwise noted, you may republish our articles for free as long as you abide by our Creative Commons license and the following guidelines.
- All republished stories must be credited to the Austin Monitor and attributed to its author, preferably in this format: “By Elizabeth Pagano, Austin Monitor” with a link to the original article on our site.
- Republished articles must retain all original hyperlinks, including links to Austin Monitor newsletters, events and any other Austin Monitor calls-to-action embedded in the story.
- Photos and graphics may be republished along with the stories in which they originally appeared, as originally credited. For any other uses, you must seek permission from us by emailing publisher@austinmonitor.com.
- When sharing republished stories, please mention/link to the Austin Monitor on Twitter, Facebook, and other applicable social media channels.
- Don’t sell the story or ask for donations against the story.
- Don’t sell ads against the story. (Feel free, however, to publish it on a page surrounded by ads you’ve already sold.)
- Do not sell or syndicate our content without prior approval. This includes publishing or syndicating our work on platforms such as Apple News.
- Do not scrape our website or use our stories to populate websites designed to improve search rankings or gain revenue from network-based advertisements. Your website must also include prominent links to your about page and contact information.
- When possible, include the following: The Austin Monitor is a nonprofit, nonpartisan media organization with a mission to strengthen our shared information space and democracy.
- If we send you a request to change or remove Austin Monitor content from your site, you must agree to do so immediately.

Multimedia Republishing Guidelines
We encourage you to republish our best online video content, photographs, images and multimedia packages – all we ask is that you follow these multimedia republishing guidelines.
- You must give us credit, preferably in this format: “By Elizabeth Pagano, Austin Monitor.” For on-air use, please introduce video packages as “(Reporter) with our reporting partner, Austin Monitor…”
- If you publish online, you must include the links from the story, and a link to https://www.austinmonitor.com.
- Video and audio packages may not be altered in any way (included shortening) without receiving clear approval from Austin Monitor editors. If you have questions, email editor@austinmonitor.com
