Zim fights on
Monday, March 28, 2016 by Elizabeth Pagano
Frequent visitors to the City Council Message Board (what? there are others, right?) may have noticed Council Member Don Zimmerman’s persistent opposition to Austin Water’s drought restrictions and the idea of making them permanent. Zimmerman posted about the issue in August, December, January and February without attracting one response. Last Wednesday, he took to the board again, noting that the Lower Colorado River Authority has released water downstream and that Lake Travis is full. He called (once again) for lifting Stage 2 watering restrictions in the city rather than making them permanent.
