Zilker trees now improved
Friday, May 13, 2016 by Elizabeth Pagano
As of Thursday, the Zilker Park Public Tree Improvement Project is officially completed. In February of this year, the Austin Parks Foundation financed the project to de-compact the soil around trees on the Great Lawn to create better conditions for the roots of some of the city’s heritage trees. While it was being done, those trees were fenced off. But now they are once again free, and you are free to tread lightly around some of the city’s favorite trees.
