Yvonne Davis gets new gig at Capitol

Tuesday, January 27, 2015 by Jo Clifton

Yvonne Davis retired from the LCRA in 2013 after 20 years as a public affairs manager. Part of her job was monitoring the Austin City Council and Travis County Commissioners to help her agency figure out what would happen next. Upon retirement, she went into politics pretty much full time but at her own pace, volunteering for various Democratic campaigns as well as a Council campaign. Davis rejoined the work world Monday as legislative director for state Rep. Dawnna Dukes (D-Austin), who represents northeast Travis County. “I’m extremely excited and grateful to be able to follow my real passion while working for the people of Texas,” Davis said, noting that she is also rejoining commuters who have to make it downtown from South Austin.
