The more things change …

Yesterday, Mayor Steve Adler announced that there would soon be some shifting at his office – for now. Jim Wick, who is Adler’s director of City Council affairs, is on a leave of absence until Nov. 12 (or thereabouts). Wick, who was Adler’s campaign manager during the 2014 election, told the Austin Monitor that during that time he will be working on the bond campaign (joining David Chincanchan, who will also be taking a leave of absence from his role as policy director for Council Member Pio Renteria). In the meantime, Amy Everhart will be stepping into Wick’s role. That shouldn’t be too hard for Everhart, who served as former Mayor Lee Leffingwell’s policy and communications director prior to joining Hahn Public Communications. Everhart has taken a leave of absence from that job in order to work at City Hall once again.
