That’s a Capital plan
Wednesday, August 9, 2017 by Chad Swiatecki
Austin’s tech presence could grow into other major Texas metros in the coming years, and Dallas looks to be the first “sister” city with the announcement that Capital Factory is expanding into the Dallas area. The move is technically a partnership with the Dallas Entrepreneur Center and will give Dallas-area entrepreneurs access to Capital Factory’s network of established businesspeople and investors. The move will create an even bigger profile for Josh Baer, who is Capital Factory’s executive director and one of the most well-known members of the Austin tech community. There are no stated plans for companies established in either city to relocate, though any importing of tech talent to the Austin area would add to a workforce demographic bloc that is estimated to number more than 100,000.
