Tell TravCo how to spend flood $$$
Friday, October 7, 2016 by Elizabeth Pagano
Travis County has $5,531,116 to distribute, and it wants your input to do so. The money is a regional allocation in Community Development Block Grant disaster recovery funds that come to the region via the Texas General Land Office via the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and it is targeted toward the long-term recovery needs of those impacted by floods in May and October 2015. Just where those funds will go will be determined, in part, by a community meeting that will be held Tuesday, Oct. 11, 6:30 p.m., at the Dove Springs Recreation Center gym. That’s not the only opportunity to contribute, however. More information on mailing and submitting comments or attending the public hearing is available online here.
