Strenger and Tristan leave Council races in D2, D10
Monday, October 12, 2020 by Elizabeth Pagano
District 2 candidate Alex Strenger has dropped out of the City Council race. Strenger confirmed the news on Twitter, where he announced he would be throwing his support behind Casey Ramos: “We need more people like myself in government and Casey Ramos is literally a person like myself. Had I won, I would have immediately hired Casey in order to be my chief of staff.” Additionally, The Austin Bulldog noted in its report on campaign finance that the mysterious District 10 candidate Noel Tristan, who has not spoken to any media or filed campaign finance reports, has also withdrawn from the race. With mail-in ballots already being accepted and early voting starting Tuesday, it’s too late to remove either candidate’s name from the ballots.
