St. David’s Foundation announces $30M in grants
Tuesday, July 3, 2018 by Chad Swiatecki
The St. David’s Foundation announced last week nearly $30 million in grants to nonprofits in Central Texas, including more than $8 million to support child health care and resiliency. Organizations such as United Way for Greater Austin, Austin Recovery and Austin Child Guidance Center have signed on to St. David’s focus on strategies to enhance young children’s abilities to ward off disease and social problems later in life by promoting strong relationships and social connections at a young age. The grant money will be used to develop programs and policies that prevent adversity and encourage resiliency at the family and community level. Recipients for other community health programs separate from the resiliency effort include Lone Star Circle of Care, CommUnityCare, People’s Community Clinic and Mission Capital.
