Seeking Sobriety Center board members
Wednesday, August 23, 2017 by Elizabeth Pagano
The city of Austin and Travis County continue to push forward with the area’s first Sobriety Center. As part of that push, City Council is now looking for people to serve on the 11-member board of directors for the center, and fill a seat through September 30, 2018. The deadline for applications is one month away, on Sept. 22, and will be reviewed by the Health and Human Services Committee on Oct. 11. Interested applicants can fill out a boards and commissions application online here. According to a press release about the call for applications, “Applicants are also requested to submit a resume describing their qualifications and a Statement of Intent expressing why they wish to serve on the Sobriety Center Local Government Corporation. Resumes and Statements of Intent may be submitted electronically to Deena Estrada, Boards and Commissions Coordinator, at (512) 974-2497 or via email at deena.estrada@austintexas.gov.”
