Planning ahead
Tuesday, November 7, 2017 by Elizabeth Pagano
This Thursday, City Council will approve its 2018 meeting schedule. That schedule currently has no meetings scheduled for January. It also has Council Member Alison Alter weighing in on an early budget request. Alter posted to the City Council Message Board to ask that at least one budget hearing be held outside of the regular Council meeting. “It was unfortunate this year that we did not get to hear from the public regarding their budget concerns until late into the night. I think we could avoid that in the future by setting aside one or more dates to focus solely on budget related hearing items. We could convene at 6 PM and that would allow a focused hearing on budget related items to take place with more time certainty,” she suggests.
