Overcrowded animal shelters offering reduced adoption fees
Friday, June 26, 2015 by Elizabeth Pagano
Recent floods have made the busy summer months at Austin animal shelters even busier. In order to reduce the overcrowding and help find homes for sheltered animals, Austin Pets Alive!, the Austin Humane Society and the Austin Animal Center are offering $25 adoption fees through July 31. Between the three shelters, there are more than 1,700 animals waiting to find new homes. If you can’t commit to an adoption, all three shelters are also looking for volunteers and foster families. More information can be found on the organizations’ websites: Austin Pets Alive!, Austin Humane Society, and Austin Animal Center.
