The Monitor, now more than ever
Friday, October 13, 2017 by Caleb Pritchard
Voting is the cornerstone of democracy and we here at the Austin Monitor are dedicated to ensuring that you, the beloved and good-looking readers, are armed with the information you need to make the right decision come election time. Along those lines, we are duty-bound to tell you that you have until Monday to cast your ballot for us in The Austin Chronicle’s Best of Austin 2017 Poll. That’s right, the Monitor has once again been nominated for the Best Non-Chronicle Publication, alongside a venerated statewide nonprofit news outlet, South Austin’s local daily of record, and a “quarterly, print-only, lady-run, sex-positive nudie mag.” Only the Monitor, in our humble estimation, combines the best of all three. While you’re voting, we also encourage you to consider pulling the lever for Monitor freelancer Caleb Pritchard, who is in the running for Best Non-Chronicle Journalist. Find the full ballot here. In the meantime, we have a private meeting with the Russian ambassador to talk about, uh, adoptions or something.
