MLK Day closures
Friday, January 13, 2017 by Nina Hernandez
On Monday, city offices and facilities will be closed to mark Martin Luther King Jr. Day and will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 17. That includes recreation and senior centers, museums, and Austin Public Library branches. Trash and recycling isn’t affected, and city golf courses and pools (yes, including Barton Springs) will stay open. Those with the day off should take part in the MLK Day festival and march, which starts at 7 a.m. on the University of Texas campus, will make a pit stop at the state Capitol and wind its way to Huston-Tillotson University.
