Connections 2025 findings coming to an open house near you
Thursday, May 12, 2016 by Caleb Pritchard
Capital Metro will soon roll out the preliminary findings of the study that will shape its upcoming Connections 2025 service plan. The transit agency and its consultant, Transportation Management & Design, Inc., have been analyzing ridership and operations data since fall 2015. The effort is aimed at developing both short- and long-term recommendations for Capital Metro’s sprawling network. In a press release sent out on Wednesday, the agency teased some of the early findings by revealing that since the turn of the century, service costs have increased while ridership has decreased. The release also asserts that the relatively new MetroRapid routes “are consistently faster than Local buses.” Transit riders and other members of the public will have a chance to weigh in on the study’s preliminary findings at four separate open houses next week. More details on those can be found here.
