Colony Park development continues
Monday, October 30, 2017 by Chad Swiatecki
The city’s Economic Development Department has released the request for qualifications call for master developers looking to lead the development of the Colony Park project on 208 acres of public land in Northeast Austin. The project’s master plan calls for a mixed-use project featuring affordable and market-rate housing, commercial and other uses, with a significant portion dedicated to job training, health care services and other services to benefit the surrounding community. A site visit for interested parties is scheduled for Nov. 16, with a Dec. 21 submission deadline. A short list of qualified developers will be selected from the initial applicants and asked to complete the request for proposal phase, which will include submission of a development concept and business plan for the project. The master developer is expected to be selected in summer 2018.
