City seeks input on convention center expansion

City Council members Ora Houston and Pio Renteria are hosting a community meeting on the proposed expansion of the Austin Convention Center downtown. According to a press release from the city, the meeting will focus on getting public feedback about the expansion and answering questions about the convention center’s “purpose” and its “effect on the citizens of Austin.” The meeting will take place Saturday, Aug. 27, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Parque Zaragoza Recreation Center, 2608 Gonzales St.
