City, residents celebrate park’s groundbreaking
Thursday, September 19, 2019 by Tai Moses
This North Austin park has been in the dreaming and planning stages for several years, so residents are excited to finally be breaking ground on Georgian Acres Neighborhood Park. District 4 City Council Member Greg Casar, PARD Director Kimberly McNeeley, Austin Parks Foundation CEO Colin Wallis, and Georgian Acres Neighborhood Association President Daniela Nuñez will be at the ceremony to help celebrate the park’s development. Community members can look forward to a new loop trail, a large picnic pavilion with tables and family-sized grills, bike racks, benches, a basketball court and new playground equipment when the 5-acre, wooded park is complete. Saturday, Sept. 21, 10 a.m., at Georgian Acres Neighborhood Park, 500 E. Powell Lane.
