Cardenas takes new lobby job

Thursday, June 23, 2016 by Jo Clifton

Nancy Cardenas, who started her City Hall career four years ago as an intern for Council Member Bill Spelman, has now taken a lobbying job with the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health. After working part-time for Spelman, Cardenas got a full-time position with then Mayor Pro Tem Sheryl Cole, where she stayed until Cole’s term ended at the beginning of 2015. Then Mayor Steve Adler hired Cardenas to be his constituent services aide when he took office. Cardenas began her new position with the Latina Institute this week. She told the Monitor her work mostly involves lobbying around reproductive health and immigration issues.
