Friday, January 29, 2016 by Elizabeth Pagano
On Thursday, political action committee Austin4All – the group behind a petition drive to recall City Council Member Ann Kitchen – alerted the media that it has big news … that will be announced Monday morning. In the meantime, according to the PAC’s press release, it planned to monitor yesterday’s Council meeting ahead of the announcement. Its statement reads, in part, “Members of the Austin4All PAC will be at city hall Thursday and in attendance of the city council meeting in anticipation of discussions regarding (transportation network companies) like Uber and Lyft and other potential ballot measures. Austin4All PAC will also be present for public hearings and the consideration of an ordinance regarding short-term rental use. … Following Thursday’s meeting, Austin4All PAC will be making a major announcement Monday morning regarding Councilmember Ann Kitchen, who has led the charge in tightening TNC regulations.”
