AISD closes its facilities to the public

The Stay-at-Home, Work Safe order has claimed another casualty. The Austin Independent School District announced yesterday that all district facilities and open spaces would be closed to the public, “including tennis courts, tracks, football fields, basketball courts and playfields.” Since playing contact sports of any kind is ill-advised – if not downright prohibited – during the pandemic, most people probably will not be too affected by the closures.
