ABIA air traffic returns to normal
Wednesday, November 18, 2015 by Elizabeth Pagano
According to a statement issued by the Federal Aviation Administration on Tuesday morning, radar control of air traffic in Austin has been returned to the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. The radar approach facility was damaged during flooding on Oct. 30. The airport is now running at normal capacity, two weeks ahead of schedule. According to the statement, “The FAA initially predicted that repairs would not be completed until early December. FAA technicians and contractors worked around the clock to restore the radar room so the airport could operate at its peak efficiency during the busy Thanksgiving travel period.”
