311 wants you to like it
Thursday, September 15, 2016 by Nora Ankrum
Austin 311, the city’s help line for non-emergency city services, now has a Facebook page in addition to its traditional phone service, website and mobile app. The 311 request line receives “over 1 million calls per year producing over 200,000 service requests for City of Austin departments,” according to a press release from the city, and the service’s new Facebook presence is just one more way for it to fulfill its mission of providing “uncomplicated access to City services and information.” It’s also a way to get some friends. As the press release notes, “Residents and visitors are encouraged to ‘like’ the page.”
