NHCD to hold meeting on tenant-relocation assistance
Monday, February 1, 2016 by Nora Ankrum
The Neighborhood Housing and Community Development department is seeking input on relocation assistance for tenants of multifamily properties. The input will help shape a draft ordinance on relocation-assistance requirements, which are intended to “help mitigate the negative effects of tenant displacement caused by the redevelopment, renovation, or repair of multifamily properties,” according to an announcement from the city. A public meeting will be held Wednesday, Feb. 10, 9 to 10:30 a.m., at the NHCD offices, 1000 E. 11th St., in Room 400A. More information about the issue, including dates for additional public meetings and summaries of input gathered at previous meetings, is available here. The City Council resolution prompting creation of the ordinance is available here.
