This week we talk to Kevin McLaughlin, the Land Use Committee chair of AURA, a local urbanist group focused on land use and transportation policy. McLaughlin sits down with Austin Monitor reporter Jessi Devenyns and editor Elizabeth Pagano to discuss how the city’s most recent attempt at rewriting its Land Development Code meets – or doesn’t meet – AURA’s goals. City of Austin Land Development Code: The city's Land Development Code regulates building and development in the city of Austin. As part of the Imagine Austin Comprehensive Plan, the code is currently undergoing a rewrite in what is called the "CodeNEXT." That process is expected to be completed in 2016.
