We’re number 18!

Tuesday, August 21, 2018 by Elizabeth Pagano

A recent survey by the Thumbtack freelance finder startup has found that Austin gets a B+ rating from business owners in its relationships with the business community. The company’s Small Business Friendliness Survey compiled rankings of every state and 57 cities and metro areas, on factors such as licensing requirements, tax regulations, and labor and hiring regulations using results from surveys of 7,500 small business owners. Austin wound up as the 18th-ranked city in the final results, with its biggest deficiency coming from the F grade for the city’s website. It earned more respectable marks in considerations for ease of starting a business, training and network programs. Fort Worth and San Antonio took the top two spots in the city rankings, with Dallas clocking in at 33 and the state of Texas overall coming in at No. 7 with an A grade.
