Boys & Girls Club supporters to gather Thursday
Tuesday, April 5, 2016 by Nora Ankrum
Backers of a proposed new Boys & Girls Club to be built in Northeast Austin are hoping to rally support for the project this Thursday ahead of City Council’s vote on the matter. The project got the nod from the Planning Commission in February, but there has been pushback from some neighbors. According to a press release from public relations firm Wyatt Brand, there will be “pre-hearing interviews” with supporters scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday at City Hall, about 90 minutes before the public hearing on the project. Mark Kiester, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area, and the Drenner Group’s Steve Drenner will be available, along with others, to answer questions about the project.
