Zoom Zoom
Tuesday, November 15, 2016 by Elizabeth Pagano
Today, “Park & Zoom” airport parking will celebrate its grand opening. The new covered 2,000-space facility, which has shuttles to the airport, is on the airport’s grounds at 9518 Hotel Drive, near Highway 71 and Presidential Boulevard. A press release about the new facility touts it as “one of the most environmentally conscious facilities in the nation.” It continues, “In addition to the 2,000 covered parking spaces, Park & Zoom also features an eco-friendly detention pond with water filtration system, capturing rain runoff to prevent flooding and minimizing environmental impact.” It also features EV charging stations, bicycle racks and showers, and electric and low-emission diesel shuttles. Park & Zoom is a public/private partnership on leased city of Austin land. When the lease term is over, ownership will revert back to the city.
