ZAP elects interim officers
Wednesday, March 8, 2017 by Joseph Caterine
With no chair or vice chair to lead it, the Zoning and Platting Commission decided to elect interim officers before proceeding with the rest of its March 7 meeting. Both Thomas Weber and Gabriel Rojas resigned in the past month, and though Code Advisory Group Chair Jim Duncan and former Austin Neighborhoods Council President David King have been appointed to fill the empty seats (still leaving one vacancy), the leadership positions had yet to be assigned. Commissioner Jolene Kiolbassa called for nominations, and King moved to nominate Kiolbassa for chair, Duncan for vice chair, Ana Aguirre for secretary and Betsy Greenberg for parliamentarian. With no objections and no other nominations, King’s slate of nominations passed 9-0-1, with Kiolbassa abstaining.
