Viveca Martinez takes state job

Thursday, March 3, 2016 by Jo Clifton

Viveca Martinez, who has been City Council Member Ellen Troxclair’s chief of staff since Troxclair took office 14 months ago, has a new job. She has accepted a position as the director of the new Healthy Texas Women program at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. Martinez told the Austin Monitor, “I will be helping set up the program that will bring health care to thousands of women across the state. It’s going to be a lot of fun.” The hardest part of leaving the city, she said, was “leaving Ellen.”
