Today’s the day, they swear
Friday, January 6, 2017 by Elizabeth Pagano
Today, the City Council members who were elected in November and December will be sworn in. For Jimmy Flannigan and Alison Alter, that means they will start their first terms as Council members. Council members Leslie Pool, Delia Garza and Greg Casar will begin their first four-year terms on Council. Immediately following the ceremony, the new Council will head into its first official meeting, where it will choose a mayor pro tem and draw for seats on the dais. Those dying to catch the action in person can head down to City Hall at 6:00 p.m., and those curious but unwilling to brave tomorrow’s cold can check out the inauguration ceremony on ATXN.
