Time to talk about Austin Energy rates
Tuesday, July 5, 2016 by Kayleigh Hughes
City Council discussions regarding the Austin Energy rate case have been scheduled, as announced last Wednesday by Tina Cannon, senior policy advisor to Council Member Sheri Gallo, on the City Council Message Board. There will be three Austin Energy Utility Oversight Committee work sessions as well as two required public hearings. The AEUOC work sessions will take place during the following days and times: Aug. 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (which will also include regular AE monthly committee business), Aug. 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Aug. 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The two public hearings will be take place on Aug. 25 from 4-10 p.m. and Aug. 29 from 1-7 p.m. Optimistically, Cannon said, “The hope is that we have over-scheduled for each meeting end time and will wrap the discussions sooner than the estimated time frames below.”
