The city has extended its deadline to Dec. 6 for entrants into the next round of the Austin Fast Start pitch competition. The competition is a partnership between the city’s Small Business Program, the Economic Development Department and Austin Young Chamber, and provides new startups with $2,000 funding plus business coaching and other resources to help jump-start their growth valued at over $5,000. The Jan. 15 event will take place at Capital Factory and is focused on companies in the financial technology sector, which can include personal financial management, insurance, payments, asset management and more. In June, companies in the fashion industry will be eligible, and in September, startups geared toward mobility innovations will compete. Interested companies can learn more and enter here.
