All-star basketball game to honor local coaches
Wednesday, April 27, 2016 by Nora Ankrum
The city announced yesterday that the Turner-Roberts Recreation Center in East Austin will be hosting an all-star middle school basketball game in honor of longtime basketball coaches L.D. Washington and John Bragg Sr. “They have paved the way for many coaches in our area, as well as coached many generations of basketball players in Austin,” according to the city’s announcement, and the game – featuring hand-picked players from area middle schools – will honor their service to the community. The event will take place Thursday, May 5, at 7 p.m., at 7201 Colony Loop Drive. For more information, call 512-978-2690.
