Spring special (event) ops
Tuesday, March 7, 2017 by Nina Hernandez
The Austin Center for Events, which oversees departments responsible for safety, security and traffic operations during South by Southwest, has set a news conference on special event operations ahead of the festival’s March 10 start date. The conference will include representatives from the Austin Police Department, the Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority and Code – to name just a few – who can answer questions about how their agencies will combine to receive the influx of festivalgoers the city will absorb over the next couple of weeks. The conference begins at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, and can be found, as usual, on ATXN Live. This whisper has been changed since publication to include the date of the press conference
