Sister-city serenade
Tuesday, September 13, 2016 by Nora Ankrum
Musicians from Austin and its sister city Adelaide, Australia, are coming together tonight for a performance to benefit the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians. Each of the two cities is officially recognized by UNESCO for its creative cred – Austin for its media arts, and Adelaide for its music. As part of HAAM Benefit Day, the show is free, but donations are encouraged. The Austin lineup features Akina Adderley, Dawn and Hawkes, and Graham Wilkinson, and the Adelaide musicians include Kelly Menhennett, Dan Crannitch and Taasha Coates. The show will take place at Threadgill’s South, 301 West Riverside Drive, from 5 to 8:30 p.m.
