Ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrates Pan-Am park
Friday, September 20, 2019 by Tai Moses
Austin Parks Foundation, in partnership with the city Parks and Recreation Department, C3 Presents, and St. David’s Foundation, is hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate renovations at Pan American Neighborhood Park. Visitors to the park will now be able to enjoy a new design organized around a central lawn and colorful new playground equipment. Families can relax under the shade of mature trees while kids climb nets and play on swings and spinners. In partnership with Health’s Angels, a program of St. David’s Foundation Community Fund, the senior garden now sports raised planting beds that will make gardening more enjoyable and accessible for seniors. The community is invited to enjoy light snacks and refreshments and listen to remarks by city officials and leaders of the partnering organizations. Following the ribbon-cutting, Zavala Elementary students and seniors from Creative Action’s Continuing Creativity Program will help plant a garden. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 10 a.m., Pan American Neighborhood Park, 2100 E. Third St.
