No mean feat for Fleet Services
Thursday, March 17, 2016 by Nora Ankrum
The city’s Fleet Services Department is getting some recognition this week for its sustainable practices. It is one of the first fleets in the country to receive Sustainable Fleet Accreditation, thanks to having “successfully demonstrated a credible sustainability plan and made progress toward reducing the total emissions and the negative environmental impact made by extraneous carbon fuel usage,” according to a statement from the city. The honor comes from the Fleet Management Association, which is part of the National Association of Fleet Administrators (known as NAFA). Fleet Services is also in the running for another NAFA honor, as a finalist for the Excellence in Fleet Safety award. The winner will be announced April 19.
