New outdoor installations in time for V-Day

Tuesday, January 28, 2020 by Tai Moses

Eleven new heart-shaped installations will shower some love on the East César Chávez business district just in time for Valentine’s Day. Each of the installations, which were created by local artists and commissioned by the East César Chávez Merchants Association, honor the district’s cultural heritage. Board Member Brandon Testa said in a press release about the project, “This creative installation is a great example of what can be accomplished when the community works together on a goal. By creating a walking tour of art installations, we hope to get people out of their cars and walking on East César Chávez to experience the amazing culture, art and small businesses that our street has to share.” “Hearts of the East Side” will be unveiled to the public at a celebration on Saturday, Feb 15, 11 a.m.- 2 p.m, that includes a guided walking tour of the installations, some light snacks and a chance to meet the artists.
