Meet, greet Colony Park
Tuesday, August 28, 2018 by Chad Swiatecki
The city’s Purchasing Office has scheduled a meet-and-greet session for those interested in the forthcoming Colony Park redevelopment project in Northeast Austin. The session will feature representatives from Catellus Development Corp., the company chosen by the city as the finalist for the role of master developer for the 208-acre project on city-owned land. The planned mixed-use project will include hundreds of housing units at a variety of price points, transit access, commercial space, job training programs and parkland. The session will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Turner-Roberts Recreation Center, 7201 Colony Loop Drive. Catellus representatives and members of the Colony Park Sustainable Community team will answer questions submitted at the event as well as from a previous session in May, and attendees can learn about the next steps in the development plans. While Catellus has been recommended as the master developer, City Council still has to authorize the negotiation and execution of an agreement with the company. It is expected to consider that action on Oct. 4.
