Keep Austin playing with citywide play date
Thursday, July 7, 2016 by Kayleigh Hughes
The city’s Parks and Recreation Department wants to encourage play and cultivate healthy living through its annual citywide interactive play date. Next Thursday, July 14, PARD and its Keep Austin Playing program will be hosting parents and children of all ages at the Parmer Events Center for a free day of playing, which will feature a number of (frankly, very cool) activities such as a portable climbing wall, an inflatable batting cage, bike rodeo, human foosball, an obstacle course, corn hole and tailgate games. There will also be a giveaway whose prizes include a bicycle, Round Rock Express tickets or even a hoverboard. The event is closed to PARD summer camps only from 1-4 p.m. on July 14 but opens to the public from 4:30-7 p.m.
