Just kicking around a few ideas
Monday, October 30, 2017 by Elizabeth Pagano
If you’re dying to know what, exactly, is going on with a potential new Major League Soccer team (and stadium) for Austin, you don’t need to wait until next week to know what City Council will be taking up at its Nov. 9 meeting. Mayor Pro Tem Kathie Tovo’s resolution, which asks for an analysis and identification of city sites “in the urban core, including underutilized parkland, that might be appropriate for a soccer stadium, as well as sites outside the urban core where practice fields and ancillary uses could serve the Columbus Crew and the surrounding community,” has been posted on the City Council Message Board. While Council members are free to make amendments to the resolution when it’s up for official consideration, it’s a start.
