Today is the final day to apply for the next group participating in Impact Hub Austin’s Affordability Accelerator. The affordability program brings together businesspeople as well as those skilled in technology, real estate and civic programs to build startups focused on solving some of the many issues that contribute to Austin’s housing affordability crisis. Those who are interested can apply here. Selected entrants will work for three months in groups that each organize around a specific factor related to affordability while receiving mentorship and coaching as well as other business resources to grow into an ongoing business or nonprofit group. The first affordability cohort organized last fall saw nine groups focus on advocacy for tiny homes in Austin, financing accessibility for low-income homeowners, how 3-D printing technology can be used for home construction, and more.
