Help develop Brownie Park
Thursday, January 11, 2018 by Katy McElroy
In 2014, Brownie Park was enlarged by about 5 acres, and the Parks and Recreation Department, in conjunction with the North Lamar Combined Neighborhood Plan contact team and Kristine Stiphany of Architecture and Urbanism, is now working on developing its vision for the future look of the park. The department would like the master plan to develop with an emphasis on community engagement, and the ultimate goal is to create a sustainable park that is welcoming to the diverse culture and age groups of the neighborhood that surrounds it. With this in mind, the department is hosting the second in a series of meetings with the public. This Park Concept Workshop will review ideas developed in the previous Park Planning Workshop and survey and take a look at design options that work with those ideas. The workshop is Monday, Jan. 15, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Brownie Park, 10000 Brownie Drive.
