Thursday, May 19, 2016 by Elizabeth Pagano
Will there be a transportation bond election this November? That remains to be seen, but a new coalition of more than 20 community groups has formed to urge a “yes” to the question. The group, called “Get Austin Moving,” plans to advocate for a bond that includes “all modes of transport” and comprises the Alliance for Public Transportation, Austin Metro Trails & Greenways, ATX Safer Streets, AURA, Austin Area Rapid Transit, Austin Environmental Democrats, AustinUP, Bike Austin, Bike Texas, Clean Water Action, Brazos Technology District, College Houses Cooperatives, Evolve Austin, Hill Country Conservancy, Austin Metro Trails and Greenways, The North Central I-35 Neighborhood Coalition 2, the Old Austin Neighborhood Association, Reconnect Austin, Shoal Creek Conservancy, the Trail Foundation, Vision Zero ATX and the Waller Creek Conservancy. More information about their mission can be found here.
