Goodman to join Garza’s staff
Monday, April 18, 2016 by Jo Clifton
Jackie Goodman, who served on City Council from 1993 to 2005, has told members of the Save Barton Creek Association board of directors that she will quit serving on the board because she is joining the staff of Council Member Delia Garza on May 2. Goodman, who also serves as vice chair of the Zoning and Platting Commission and is a member of the Code Advisory Group, will also be vacating those positions, according to an email she sent last week. Known as a strong environmentalist, Goodman filed a campaign treasurer designation to run for the District 2 seat in 2014, but she dropped out before the election and endorsed Garza. Goodman will be filling a vacancy created by the departure of Laura Williamson, Garza’s former chief of staff filling the fourth part-time staff position in Garza’s office. Laura Williamson, Garza’s former chief of staff has taken a job at the Health and Human Services Department.
