Fleet Services director to retire
Wednesday, December 7, 2016 by Elizabeth Pagano
Add the Fleet Services Department to the ever-growing list of city departments in need of a director, as Fleet Services Director Gerry Calk has announced his retirement, effective Jan. 31. In a memo from Interim City Manager Elaine Hart, she noted that he took the helm of the department in 2008 and wrote, “I am so appreciative of Gerry’s efforts and contributions toward our great city. Gerry worked tirelessly to ensure our employees had the most reliable and dependable vehicles needed to perform their jobs. Gerry has been an outstanding leader, colleague, and a true inspiration for us all. Although we are truly sad to see Gerry leave, he has been privately hinting at retiring for some time. We congratulate Gerry on this milestone in his life and career, and wish him nothing but the very best.” Hart said she plans to appoint an acting director prior to his departure on Dec. 30.
