Early voting concludes with a whimper
Monday, November 6, 2017 by Elizabeth Pagano
Friday was the final day of early voting for the November 7 general election, and the Travis County voter turnout was underwhelming. So far, only 5.49 percent of registered Travis County voters have cast ballots – that’s 39,806 people. The busiest location throughout early voting was the Randalls at Brodie and Slaughter lanes, which saw 4,321 total votes cast. The fewest votes were cast at the Del Valle Independent School District administrative building, which saw a total of 109 votes cast over the past two weeks. However, all hope is not yet lost – there is one more day of voting left, on election day this Tuesday, Nov. 7. A list of voting locations is available on the Travis County Clerk’s website. Registered voters can cast ballots at any of the locations listed there.
