Chat with District 3 candidates tomorrow
Tuesday, August 28, 2018 by Katy McElroy
The City Council candidate forums kick off tomorrow with District 3. Joining the incumbent, Pio Renteria, in the race are his sister, Susana Almanza, as well as Amit Motwani, Jessica Cohen, Justin Jacobson and James Valadez. Each candidate will give a brief opening and closing statement and answer questions from a moderator. The forum will take place at 6 p.m. at the Pan Am Recreation Center, 2100 E. Third St. In addition to these live forums, the city will be recording video statements by each of the candidates for ATXN, and the League of Women Voters will be publishing answers to a questionnaire provided to all candidates on AustinTexas.gov. Find more information on Austin’s 10-1 City Council system, as well as a list of all candidates for mayor and Council, at www.austintexas.gov/department/10-one.
